MSU Physiatrist Talks Helmets For Bike, Scooter Safety

MarketWatch interviewed MSU physiatrist Mathew Saffarian, DO, regarding what to look for in a helmet for scooters and bikes. The interventional and sports medicine rehabilitation doctor has seen his share of injuries both from sports and daily life in his practice in East Lansing.

"The same helmets can be used to prevent skull fracture for use with bikes, scooters, etc. Motorcycle helmets are different of course,” Dr. Matthew Saffarian, interventional and sportsmedicine doctor at Michigan State University, tells MarketWatch.

“A helmet that is comfortable and fits properly is the most important thing to consider when looking for a good helmet,” says Saffarian.
